The camera is a set of choices. Move the physical and software parameters and a monthly energy model shows what each one costs: how long the pack lasts, whether the sun covers it, and how fast an alert arrives. The electronics figures behind it are one editable table.

The starting configuration: a year on the battery, alerts within a minute, indefinite with sun.

Hardware

Powered only after a PIR trigger. Confirms distance and size before any capture.
LoRaWAN and satellite arrive on the expansion slot.

Behaviour

Everything that moves in front of the sensor, animals and weather included.
Share of triggers that are too small or too far away to bother the imager.
Share of captured frames the on-device model drops without uploading.
Timed frames for reports and counts. Always uploaded.
Batching shares one modem attach between many images, at the cost of alert delay.
